Wait… They Don’t Teach This in College?

After years of reviewing resumes, portfolios, and sitting through interviews, I kept thinking: Why aren’t universities teaching the basics?

You spend $50,000 a year on a degree with the goal of landing a great job, but somehow no one teaches you how to write a solid resume or prepare for a real interview. It’s surprising how often the fundamentals like “clear communication” and “self-presentation” are completely overlooked.

To be honest, I’ve never hired someone just because of the college they went to. Sure, it might catch my eye, but what really matters is how you show up. Do you have the skills to do the job? And equally as important, will you be a good fit for the team?

At the end of the day, I’m looking for people who can deliver and contribute to a positive office culture.
